"Batman Begins" Movie Review
Batman Begins was excellent. I think it was much better than Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, which it was obviously produced to compete with. Although not appropriate for youngsters, 13-year-olds and up will enjoy this exciting suspense-filled action adventure flick that explores the concept of justice vs. revenge against a world filled with evil - Gotham's crime rate being easy to compare to the condition that the general world is in today.
Batman's philosophy of dealing with evil, "I'm not going to kill you but I don't have to save you either," was interesting to say the least... I'm not sure whether I'd agree with that bit, but the general idea of absolute Good vs absolute Evil in the film's characters shows that every once in a while, Hollywood can still produce a moral.
I am looking forward to a possible sequel in which Batman takes on his arch nemesis, the Joker, for which there was a bit of a teaser in the film's conclusion. ("This guy has a taste for the theatrical like you," "he leaves a calling card" ... (a joker card)) I've always wondered where Robin came from and might try downloading scans of the original comics to find out...
Definate thumbs up for the Bat!
